Contemporary “unstuffy” Portrait Photography.

I’ve got a confession, I used to hate having my photo taken. I also hate the term “Portrait Photography” but I imagine that’s what you searched for to find my site. To me, that brings up repressed childhood memories of fluffy cloud muslin backgrounds, cheesy forced grins and a production line of children lining up to get snapped. *Shudder* I see myself as a psychiatrist in a way, single handedly on a mission to banish these thoughts from everyone! It’ll take time, but by God I’ll get there one day!

Photography should mean something. Regardless of if I’m shooting children or a model in a studio I’m always looking to capture something that makes you you!. Most people go into getting their photo taken like they’re about to sit an exam which is perfectly natural, especially if the last time you had your photo taken professionally was either sat on a drunken Father Christmas’s knee, or in a criminal lineup at school. Of course there are those out there that will revel at the chance to be in front of the camera. Regardless of which side of the fence you’re perched, by the end of the shoot you’ll be yourself and have some nice pictures to show for it.

You can blame my insistence on making photographs that capture something about you on my film background. I’m always looking to provide each and every one of my clients something unique to them and that’s what I want to give to you. I try to create a story within every single shoot.
