I’ve got a confession, I hate having my photo taken. I also hate the term “Portrait Photography” To me, that brings up repressed childhood memories of fluffy cloud backgrounds, cheesy forced grins and a production line of children lining up to get snapped. *Shudder* I see myself as a psychiatrist in a way, single handedly on a mission to banish these thoughts from everyone! It’ll take time, but by God I’ll get there one day!

Photography should mean something. Regardless of if I’m shooting children or a model in a studio I’m always looking to tell a story about them. All you have to do is be yourself. Most people go into getting their photo taken like their about to sit an exam, it’s perfectly natural especially if the last time you had your photo taken professionally was either sat on a drunken Father Christmas’s knee, or in a criminal lineup at school. Of course there are those at there that will revel at the chance to be in front of the camera. Regardless of which side of the fence you’re perched, by the end of the shoot you’ll be yourself and have some nice pictures to show for it.

You can blame my insistence on making photographs that tell a story on my film background. What I’m looking to do is tell your story and by doing that I can make something unique and personal to you. That’s what I strive to provide each and every one of my clients, something unique and that’s what I want to give to you.
