I was asked by their Dad to produce a nice photo of all three of them to put onto a canvas as a birthday present for his wife. Having spent the majority of the day at Lightwater Valley, we only had a short window of time to produce something. 5pm on a drizzly dark overcast evening isn’t the best time to shoot portraits really as the light wasn’t exactly great. To combat this I wandered around their garden looking for good backdrops that would fit all three of them in. Decided to use my off camera lighting to brighten them up and avoid the photos looking dull and flat. This added a much needed pop to the images and you can now barely tell that it was a pretty miserable day. I’d already done a shoot with the two sisters so when their brother returned from London we got together to make something nice for Mother’s Day.
Had a great time shooting them besides the weather and their Mum was over the moon with the finished results and they now have two canvases hanging proudly around the house.

Portraits of families make great presents for parents. If you’ve got an upcoming birthday that you need a present for then get in touch to discuss how I can help.
